Creating Spine Page Bleeds in InDesign

I was recently asked how you could create inside page bleeds in InDesign, without affecting the opposite page.  The solution to this is to uncheck “Allow Pages to Shuffle” allowing you to drag the pages apart in oder to apply the full bleed.

Now ideally, it would be nice to still preview the facing pages together.  You can’t currently do this so I’d consider that a feature request.
