The Power of CS3 and XML

  1. Talked about the power of CS3 products and how they work together.
  2. Take content from an InDesign file and export it out as XML.
  3. Import that same XML content into another InDesign layout.
  4. This new InDesign layout is a file for electronic distribution (PDF).
  5. Multifile Place tif, wav, swf, and mov files into this new layout.
  6. Export as PDF and show all multimedia elements.
     

InDesign to Dreamweaver

  1. Back in InDeisgn show the XHTML/Dreamweaver export feature, and show all the options within.
  2. Show the created html file.
  3. Open Dreamweaver and show CSS (“like Paragraph Styles”), and modify.

Mobile Devices

  1. Open Illustrator, show color manipulation using Live Color (4 cans).
  2. Convert 4 cans to symbols with instance names.
  3. Copy/paste into Flash. And talked about the power of instance names in Flash.
  4. Import the same XML that was exported in the beginning (from InDesign).
  5. Jump to solution file and show how the XML content and cans are displayed on a Nokia N95 mobile device (Device Central)
  6. I have a Nokia N95, that I then actually show the result on.
